
Fact of the matter is that the Kent & Fraser team have always baked delicious cakes, cookies and biscuits and we love experimenting with recipes to create the perfect product.
In the olden days when our baker-in-chief sold her cakes at farmer’s markets she just used to sell amazingly great tasting cakes, cookies, brownies and biscuits and that worked a treat.
But over time it became apparent just how many people had to sadly refuse a taster slice of sweet lovliness due to a broad (and worryingly, increasing) range of food intolerances and in some cases, full-on food allergies, and an idea began to brew … maybe, just maybe it would be possible to work on the recipes to create a range of delicious products that everyone could eat that excluded key allergens but were still as deliciously more-ish as a ‘normal cake’ … this is how Kent & Fraser began.
You wouldn’t think you could do much baking without flour, wheat, eggs and milk – but you really would be amazed at what nature has to offer a kitchen of good cooks!
So one year on, and after stripping back our Molly fruit cake and reconstructing it (many times!) with a creative array of flavoursome, natural and allergen-free ingredients — we cracked it — and thought “if we have succeeded in taking most of the ‘bad bits’ out of our Molly Cake and it now tastes better than ever ... surely we could start experimenting across our entire range” with the clear goal being that each and every Kent & Fraser product would become known for its fine taste and for the fact that it could be enjoyed by everyone!
It took us a while and many, many months of mixing, testing and tasting but what we have now is a fantastic range of scrumptious cakes, biscuits and cookies that are ALL wheat, gluten and soya free with many being dairy, egg and fat free too!
We are really confident that you really won’t taste the difference at all and won’t for one instant miss the gluten, wheat, soya, egg, dairy or whatever else we have cleverly taken out! It’s a pretty cool food revolution and our products are not just great tasting – they are as good as if not better than most cakes, cookies and biscuits out there!
