Kent & Fraser launched their range of biscuits, cookies and shortbread at the Speciality & Fine Food Fair in 2009 and we were proud to be the very first to fly under our banner of “Deliciously Gluten Free”.
“To us, ‘Deliciously Gluten Free’ wasn’t just a nice strap-line ... It actually personified the ethos behind Kent & Fraser!”
From day one, our mission has been to develop and produce delicious food that could be enjoyed by all. We called this our “Food for All Revolution” and with good reason too, as many of the old, established (and much larger) Gluten Free bakeries seemed to be focused on functionality over flavour.
For Kent & Fraser … “flavour is everything” … and our biscuits, cookies and shortbread appeal to fine food aficionados and those with dietary restrictions alike.
Our award-winning range is 100% natural, with no preservatives, artificial colours or additives, and our biscuits, cookies and shortbread are also wheat free, egg free and soya free and we do NOT* use any “Palm Oil” whatsoever in our products!
We are pleased to have played a part in setting new standards and raising the bar when it comes to gluten-free food and it’s great to see that some of the larger manufacturers seem to be following suit and joining a little revolution that puts quality and taste first.
That’s what makes for a real Food Revolution …
“a niche market joining forces to break apart preconceptions and produce exceptional, real food that can be enjoyed by all!” Viva la Revolution!
*Kent & Fraser have chosen not to use Palm Oil in their products. We originally tried a “Vegan Margarine”, but as we were unable to ascertain that that ingredient was made using a sustainable Palm Oil supplier, we stopped producing that biscuit.
Palm Oil | “Dying for a biscuit!” | BBC Panorama.
“If consumers knew that buying their favourite biscuits, margarines, breads, crisps and even bars of soap, contributed to the extinction of the orangutan and fuelled global warming, would they still treat themselves?”
Palm oil products and the weekly shop
The challenge of saving the orangutan - man's closest relative - from extinction is trickling down to the weekly shop.
